hyperexpensive

Every jewelry company put out ad campaigns based on the idea that buying expensive jewelry is the only way to show a woman you love her. Kay Jewelers has a very popular slogan, "every kiss begins with Kay." Other than a cute play on words they use the metenarative that every woman wants expensive jewelry. This slogan insinuates that the only way for a woman to love you is to buy her jewelry from Kay Jewelers. While no one takes this completely literally in a subtle way it becomes ingrained in how we think. In a 1949 song by Jules Styne entitled Diamonds are girls best friend says, "The French were bred to die for love. They delight in fighting duels. But I prefer a man who lives. And gives expensive jewels". These lyrics basically say, "forget love, I want diamonds". Thus implanting something in the average man that the only way to make his wife happy is to buy something he cannot afford. These jewelery companies use their ad campaigns to make people think that whatever they are selling is the only way to make their wife happy.

postmodernism

AS Christians we are apart of the postmodern world. It is every visible in the mindset of CHristians around the globe. Major aspects of Postmodernism have slowly crept their way into our faith. We are commended to live in the world and not of the world. Therefore we need to accept and understand postmodernism while knowing that it has a great influence on our lives.

ants in yo pants

I had a conversation with this guy at borders. I talked with him about all the different kind of books people buy. He claimed that he could guess pretty acurately what kind of book a customer would buy before they even started looking. He was kind of wierd and he looked really anxious.

echos

The echos when R or G talk could be that since they are not being used in the play they don't directly affect anything. The echos comes from their voices but when it is heard people look around where the two stand but never seem to take notice in them. They pass off the echo as a voice they made up in their head. Because the two charcters arent being used as Claudius' tools they do not effect the story because they have no part other than when they are needed. The play never said anyhtign to the effect of what they do off stage.
